The Director of the State Archives, Hrista Najdanov, MA, on February 8, held a work meeting with Mr. Gilles Francois, director of FamilySearch International,responsible for the activities of this organization in the territory of Europe. FamilySearch International is a non-profit corporation, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah – USA, that is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing family history documents from around the world.
This organization was founded in 1894 and to this day has over 4,600 family history centers in approximately 132 states (www.familysearch.org). The meeting discussed the support that FamilySearch can give to our State Archives in the digitization and protection of archival documents related to family history and the inclusion of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia in the projects of this genealogical organization.
