The International Archives Day is celebrated each year on 9 June, and this day has been proclaimed by the International Council of Archives - ISA in order to raise the awareness about the archives and the role they have in preserving the documentary heritage. The 9th of June as a date also emphasizes the necessity for preservation of historic records, promoting their availability and stimulates sharing of the archival know-how and practices at a lobal level.
In that context, the date was also chosen to mark the establishment of the International Council of Archives, which was established on this day in 1948 under the auspices of UNESCO. The archivists and archival institutions from all over the world are organizing different events exhibitions workshops and social media campaigns in celebrating this significant day by focusing on different aspects of the archival practice and the archives, as well as the influence on the society, culture and history.
Since 2007, the International Archives Day was expanded into an International Archives Week organized by the International Council of Archives. The archival professional from around 200 countries, attempt to capture the public's attention by promoting their work and the importance of the archives in the contemporary society and conditions.
The International Archives Day is celebrated under the theme
#CyberArchives which invites more than 400 archival professionals to a virtual discussion in order to discuss the influence of the technological development in the archival area. Further information can be obtained on the following link:

Our institution joins the celebration of the International Archives Dat and the International Archives Week, by unvailing the Brothers Manaki exhibition on 5 June (Wednesday) in the ARM Home - Strumica, at 12:00.
The State Archives congratulates the International Archives Day to all the archivists in the country.
