The exhibition \u201cMemorials of the First World War in the Funds and Collections of the Archive of Yugoslavia\u201d is open and accessible to all citizens, who can visit it until September 29, 2025, at the National Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia. The exhibition was prepared by the Archive of Yugoslavia and the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Serbia, while its presentation in Skopje is organized by the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The formal opening of the exhibition took place on September 23, 2025. Speeches were delivered by the Director of the State Archives, Prof. Dr. Nata\u0161a Kotlar-Trajkova; the Director of the Archive of Yugoslavia, Dr. Milan Terzi\u0107; the representative of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Serbia, Nenad Lajbenp\u0161perger; in the presence of the charg\u00e9 d\u2019affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Kne\u017eevi\u0107.\n\nIn their addresses, it was emphasized that the cooperation between the two archives is at a very high level, and that the aim of the exhibition is to present memories of soldiers who lost their lives on the territory of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia during the First World War. The memorials also testify to the care for military cemeteries, the recording of soldiers\u2019 names, and the financing of memorial ossuaries.\n\nThe exhibition presents information about graves and monuments erected in honor of Serbian soldiers who fell on the Salonika Front, located on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central message of the exhibition is that the culture of remembrance must be nurtured and that we should learn from history in order to resolve conflicts peacefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the event, publications by Dr. \u017divko Avramovski (1926\u20132020), a historian from the Institute of Contemporary History in Belgrade, originally from the Tetovo region, were presented. The publications were released by the Archive of Yugoslavia. His work was discussed by M.Sc. Dragan Teodosi\u0107, senior archivist and head of the Department for Publication of Archival Materials at the Archive of Yugoslavia, who highlighted that Avramovski\u2019s extensive scholarly output includes numerous monographs, studies, document collections, and over one hundred scientific papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
