Students from the Faculty of Philosophy to Collaborate with the State Archives

The Director of the State Archives, Prof. Dr. Nataša Kotlar-Trajkova, held a working meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, Prof. Dr. Oliver Bakreski, where several initiatives of mutual interest were discussed.
Both parties agreed that the potential of students from certain departments of the Faculty of Philosophy could be utilized through internships at the State Archives, where they would acquire skills in processing archival collections. This would be of particular benefit for gaining knowledge across multiple fields, which students could later apply during their studies. In addition, students may also be engaged in other work processes within archival activities, thereby gaining practical skills and competencies. Through this initiative, the State Archives is investing in the development of future archival professionals.
At the working meeting, options were also discussed for the professional training of the Faculty’s administrative staff through participation in courses on office and archival management, as well as the possibility of expert support from State Archives professionals to those responsible at the Faculty of Philosophy in the preservation and maintenance of archival and documentary materials generated through the Faculty’s work.
Going forward, the Director of the State Archives will work to strengthen cooperation with higher education institutions, with the goal of making archival work more accessible to students.
