ACCESS AND USE OF ARCHIVE MATERIAL IN THE STATE ARCHIVES OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

The main goal of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia is to make available the archive material in its holding to the public.

The archive material at the disposal of the State Archives is available for use and it can be used for the needs of scientific researchers, the creators of archive material and for the needs of the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The archive and library material is available for use only in the Archives Reading Room. It is open every working day from 09:00 to 14:00.

For improved information, we recommend that you use scientific-information means for the archive funds and the archive material available to the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia. Such media are:

  • Guide through the archive funds and collections of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia;
  • Scientific-informative means for certain archive funds and collections (analytical inventories, summaries, guides for micro-imaging archival material, etc.).

DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE

The State Archive of the Republic of Northern Macedonia is an administrative organization that operates under the Law on Archive Material Material (Official Gazette No. 95 of 26.07.2012) and is a depot of all created documentation of state bodies, companies and other legal and natural persons.

Due to the great interest caused by the adoption of the Law on Denationalization (Official Gazette of RM no. 43/2000), which enabled the citizens to regain their once confiscated property, and for the needs of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, issues excerpts from the acts of expropriation, Copies of parcel lists for agrarian reform, excerpts from decisions for confiscation of construction - undeveloped land, solutions for nationalization of livestock, decisions for nationalization of large enterprises, excerpts from title books, excerpts from certified purchase agreements, copies of construction permits and others.

WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE?

Certificate, according to the Law on General Administrative Procedure is any written document, which confirms a certain fact that has a significant impact exercising a right or obligation of citizens or legal entities.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED COPY?

A certified copy of the original documentation is a reproduced archival material (documentation), which upon the requests of property-legal character is issued exclusively as a certified document sealed with a stamp, two signatures, a stamp and a business number.

WHAT DOES THE STATE ARCHIVE DO?

In the State Archive of the Republic of Northern Macedonia there are various types of documents of property and legal character, which have been adopted in accordance with their competence by various state bodies.

The State Archive inspects the existing documentation and issues the facts stated in it in the form of

  • Certificate, which is confirmed by signature and seal and
  • Certified copy, certified with a stamp, two signatures, a stamp and a business number.

The certificates and certified copies issued in this way can be used for exercising certain rights of natural or legal persons before the judicial and state bodies responsible for resolving cases of property-legal character.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Any natural or legal person to whom the indicated document refers.

As an exception, a foreign, legal or natural person may be submitted a request by a special law (lex specialis) enabled to use a certain right on the territory of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

Completed application form taxed with an administrative fee mark of 50.00 denars (according to the Law on Administrative Fees), which lists all the characteristics of the property (for easier finding of the document):

  • The type of property that was forcibly confiscated;
  • The then owner from whom the property was forcibly confiscated;
  • The basis of the violent act on which the property was confiscated;
  • The body that passed that act of forcible confiscation;
  • The time when the seizure was made;
  • Xeroscopies of documents (if the applicant possesses them) that are most closely related to the confiscated property (deeds, purchase agreements, building permits, possession lists, judgments, minutes / lists of forcibly confiscated movable property, etc.)
WHERE IS THE FILLED FORM SUBMITTED?

The duly completed form of the requests for property-legal affairs is submitted in the archive of the State Archives where the request is registered in the record book and the applicant is issued a receipt for the request with data on the registration number under which the request is registered, date when the request is registered and a contact phone number where the party can be informed if the request is resolved within the legal deadline.

HOW LONG ARE YOU WAITING FOR AN ANSWER TO THE REQUEST?

The standard deadline for submitting responses to the submitted requests in the field of property and legal affairs is 10 (ten) days from the day of submitting the request.

HOW MUCH IS THE SERVICE CHARGED?

The State Archive of the Republic of Northern Macedonia charges the service in the amount of actually incurred costs, defined by the Price List of the State Archive, as follows:

  • 300.00 denars are charged for a Certificate, a
  • 200.00 denars are charged for Certified copy
HOW IS THE SERVICE CHARGED?

The payment of the service and the administrative fees are done with form pp50.

Issuance of certificates and / or certified copies of the documentation confirming the work experience of the applicant

WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE?

Certificate, according to the Law on General Administrative Procedure is any written document, which confirms a certain fact that has a significant impact exercising a right or obligation of citizens or legal entities.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED COPY?

A certified copy of the original documentation is a reproduced archival material (documentation), which upon the requests in the field of work and labor relations is issued exclusively as a certified document stamped, two signatures, stamp and business number.

WHAT DOES THE STATE ARCHIVE DO?

In the State Archive of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, to a lesser extent, there are various types of documents for exercising certain rights in the field of pension and disability insurance, which are adopted in accordance with their competence by various bodies and organizations after the termination of work, as follows:

  • Payrolls (payrolls);
  • Working cards;
  • Patterns M1, M2, M4, M8, etc.

The State Archive inspects the existing documentation and issues the facts stated in it in the form of:

  • Certificate, which is confirmed by signature and seal and
  • Certified copy, certified with a stamp, two signatures, a stamp and a business number.
