Yesterday, at the Regional Department of the State Archives in Bitola, the Director of the State Archives, Mr. Dimitar Bogeski, M.A., held a meeting with the Ambassador of Israel, H.E. Vivien Aisen. During the meeting, possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the field of archival activities were discussed.
The focus was on archival materials that highlight the rich historical presence and significant contributions of Jewish communities in Bitola, as well as the lives and work of Jewish families who have been an integral part of the city for centuries. During the visit, photographs from the archival collection ‘The Manaki Brothers’ were showcased, along with parchments and other valuable documents from the ‘Bitola Jews’ collection. The presentation of these materials was conducted by Goce Stojanovski, Head of the Regional Department of the State Archives in Bitola, and Dimitar Gjorgjievski.
The meeting confirmed the shared dedication to enhancing inter-institutional collaboration and to the preservation, study, and promotion of archival heritage.
