A delegation from the State Archives, led by the Director Dr. Emil Krsteski, on December 12 and 13, 2019 paid a visit to the State Agency "Archives" of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia.

During the visit, Dr. Emil Krsteski had a working meeting with Assoc. Dr. Mikhail Gruev, President of the State Agency "Archives" of the Republic of Bulgaria and his closest associates and visited the digitalization center, conservation and restoration laboratory, reading room and microfilm laboratory.

The representatives of the two state archives discussed the way of working in all segments of the archives, the possibilities for exchanging experiences and organizing joint events (trainings, exhibitions, etc.), and several specific joint projects for the next year were identified.

Under the Agreement on Cooperation between the two state archives, which was signed on October 5, 2017, during 2020, training on conservation and restoration will be organized in Plovdiv and Sofia. At the same time, the realization of two projects from the publishing activity will begin, one of which will be a collection of documents with the working title "The first photographs in the Balkans". It will, among other things, include archival material from the Manaki brothers from the Department of the State Archives in Bitola. The other project will be a joint collection of documents by prominent historical figures.
