Connecting archivists, librarians, and museum professionals is a growing trend both in the Balkan region and across Europe.
In that context, on 28 and 29 May 2025, the Fifth Conference of Librarians, Archivists, and Museologists – LAM 2025 was held in Cetinje, Republic of Montenegro, under the theme:
“Transformation of Libraries, Archives, and Museums in the (Post)Digital Environment – Focusing on Preservation, Accessibility, Research, and Promotion of Cultural Heritage.”
The conference was attended by archivists Filip Risteski and Duško Petkoski from the State Archives – Prilep Department, who had the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge during the discussions.
Through the presentations, the conference emphasized the visibility of cultural heritage with the help of new technologies, including archival collections, which are considered movable cultural heritage.
Experts from several Balkan countries presented practical examples and ideas for future cooperation. For the younger generation of professionals, initiatives like this represent a valuable opportunity to enhance their work and professional development.
The conference was organized by the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, the State Archives of Montenegro, and the National Museum of Montenegro.
