Yesterday, the State Archives Department of Bitola marked seven decades of its existence in the Officers Home in Bitola. The event saw an address by the acting Director of the State Archives, Mr. Hrista Najdanov, MA, the German Ambassador H.E. Petra Drexler, the Mayor of Bitola, Toni Konjanovski, and the Head of the Department, Mr. Goce Stojanovski.

At the event, the monograph titled "70 years of Bitola Archival Chronotope" prepared by archival professionals was also promoted by the reviewer, Dr. Jasmina Damjanovska. The guests of the event were introduced to the past and the development of the Department over the decades in the discussion held within the archival forum.

The department in Bitola has one of the largest photographic collections, the Manaki brothers' fund, the largest even in the Balkans, and perhaps one of the largest in Southeast Europe. In addition, it has 1,070 funds and collections from different periods. The oldest documents date from the period between the 13th and 14th centuries, which is a real curiosity.
The State Archives and its department throughout the country remain guardians of the cultural, historic and documentary heritage with a proven reputation.
