Archival science as future profession of students – a priority of the State Archives

The State Archives, through the implementation of the Archival Education Program, continues to contribute to the development of students' interest in history and archival studies. And during the second half of the school year, educators from the State Archives in cooperation with primary and secondary schools affirm the profession of archivists.

Today the Archive was visited by students from the first year of the "Cvetan Dimov" Secondary School - Skopje, as part of the History curriculum. Through an adapted presentation, students were presented with theoretical and practical examples of work processes. The attitude of the archivist towards the documents as well as the place of the Archive in society were part of the contents of the presentation.

The deputy director, Dr. Muzafer Bislimi received the students and answered the students' questions about the Archive and its significance. The professional preparation for the visit and the presentation of the institution was carried out by the educators Biljana Krstevska and Nazmije Kurtishi from the Department for research, international and domestic cooperation and publication of archival material.

By implementing the Archival Education Program, the State Archives affirms archival science as the choice of students in acquiring higher education.
