On March 15, 2019, Dr. Bojan Cvelfar, Director of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, visited the State Archives of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in Skopje and met with the Director, Mr. Kiril Petrov.
At the working meeting, the two directors discussed the successful cooperation between the two state archives so far, as well as the future opportunities for realization of joint projects. Special attention was paid to the issue of the succession of archival material from the former SFR Yugoslavia and the application for the Project for digitalization of the joint archival heritage of the SFRY, ie the implementation of the Agreement on the succession of the former SFRY and Annex D, which refers to archival issues.
The application for the digitalization project is related to the call no. 2018-1 of the Fund of the European Economic Community and Norway for grants for regional cooperation, in order to receive financial support for the project "Digitization of the archival heritage of the former Yugoslavia". It is joint with the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, as the main partner of the project, the Croatian State Archives, the Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Archives of Yugoslavia, as well as the National Archives of Norway, as a partner expert.
