In the gallery of the Macedonian cultural society "Ohridski biseri" in Nova Gorica, Republic of Slovenia, was opened the exhibition prepared by the State Archives: "150 years since the birth of Goce Delćev" (1872 -2022). At the opening of the exhibition was addressed the Macedonian ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia, Susana Zelenkovska, the president of the Club, Boro Mitovski, the mayors of the municipality of Nova Gorica, Dr. Klemen Miklavić and of Šenpeter, Milan Turk, as well as the director of the State Archives, Dr. Emil Krsteski. At the same time, an appropriate cultural and artistic performance was performed in honour of the guests.
The exhibition itself is a presentation of archival documents and photographs, which show the character and work of Delćev from several aspects, mostly as an ideologist and one of the main organizers of the Macedonian national liberation movement from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. All these activities undertaken and carried out by the State Archives are in the interest of preserving our past, our history, culture, tradition and customs, recalling significant events and persons, honouring them, as a debt to our ancestors, but also for the present and future generations for whom history and the past should be a beacon for the future and a foundation for our survival in these spaces.
"One of the basic activities of the State Archives is actually to keep the original significant historical documents and materials and this is our obligation as an institution, which justifies the epithet that we are one of the main pillars of our national identity," he said, among other things, at the opening of the exhibition, the director of the State Archives, Dr. Emil Krsteski. The exhibition in Nova Gorica, where about three thousand Macedonian citizens live and work, will be displayed for one month, and then it will be presented in other Macedonian clubs in Slovenia and Croatia, such as in Kranj, Ljubljana, Celje, Koper, Rijeka, Zagreb, Varaždin, Osijek and Djakovo. On this occasion, the Macedonian cultural society "Ohridski biseri" awarded the State Archives a plaque for successful cooperation in the field of history and culture.
