On November 25, 2024, the 34th conference – International Archival Days 2024 and the 18th International Archival School were opened at the Alma Mater Europaea University in Maribor. The event will run until November 30, 2024. The organizers of these events are the International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribor, Alma Mater Europaea University, and the Historical Archive of the European Union, based in Florence, Italy. The event is co-sponsored by the European Union.
The conference will feature presentations on the relationship between archives and the creators of archival documents, as well as on digitization and artificial intelligence in archival theory and practice. A research project funded by the EU’s enlargement program, titled OPENARCH – Open Archives for Social Science Research in Widening Countries, will also be presented. The State Archive is represented at these events by Mr. Dimitar Bogeski, Deputy Director, Svetlana Usporcova, Head of Sector, and Zvonko Dimoski, Head of Department.
On the first day of the conference, Mr. Dimitar Bogeski gave a presentation on the topic: The Relationship Between Archives and the Creators of Archival Material, in which he discussed the current situation regarding this matter in the territory of Macedonia. During the conference, Mr. Dimitar Bogeski also held a meeting with Professor Peter Pavel Klasinc, Director of the International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribor, and Professor Dr. Ludvik Toplak, Rector of Alma Mater Europaea University and member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. They discussed opportunities for improving archival education, organizing training for archival workers, and translating professional archival literature.
