Today, the new Director of the State Archives of Macedonia, Dimitar Bogeski, M.A, officially assumed the position from his predecessor

For Director Bogeski, this position is not a privilege but a responsibility – with a clear goal for the work of the Archive to be transparent, open, accountable, and accessible to all citizens. He expressed his gratitude to the former director for her dedication and contribution during the past period.

The Archive, as an institution, holds an important place in our country. It is the guardian of the history and identity of the Republic of Macedonia, ensuring continuity between the past, the present, and the future.

This is the first time in many years that a person from the ranks of employees has taken such a prestigious position – with 19 years of work experience, having climbed all the ranks within the institution. This experience is invaluable and will help in overcoming all the challenges faced by both the employees and the users of the Archive's services.

The new director’s goal is for the Archive to be open to everyone, to welcome different ideas and solutions aimed at improving efficiency and overall performance. Above all, he is here for the employees, who are the foundation of the institution and whose dedication is essential for its development.

Director Bogeski believes in joint and dedicated work, with the aim of elevating the Archive to a higher level – as a modern institution that will provide digitalization, greater accessibility of documents, strengthening of its scientific and educational role, as well as the promotion of cultural heritage to both the domestic and international public.

The State Archives remains an institution that safeguards the memory of the state and builds the trust of its citizens. With renewed energy and vision, it will continue to serve as a foundation of knowledge and a bridge to the future.
