Stojanovski: The archival material in Bitola is safe and secure.

In an interview for TV Tera Bitola, ТВ Тера Битола, the Head of the Bitola Regional Department, Goce Stojanovski, pointed out that the archival material in the regional department is safe and secure.

“What has been circulated in the media—that the archival material in Bitola is at risk due to roof leaks—is absolutely not true. The archival material here is safe and secure, and we have the necessary conditions to preserve what we call the cultural heritage of Bitola and Macedonia,” Stojanovski said.

Stojanovski pointed out that what is mentioned in the audit report refers to improvements in the conditions of the storage facilities not only in Bitola but also at the central level.

“This has been identified as an issue, and with the new leadership of the State Archive and the new director, M.A. Dimitar Bogeski, we have held several meetings with all regional departments, discussing this topic and actively working on improving these conditions. We are already working with the new director to bring some collections of significance to the city of Bitola, which are currently kept in Skopje, to Bitola, so they can be processed here and made accessible to the public,” Stojanovski said.

He added that discussions are underway regarding additional construction works that will improve the conditions in the Archive.
