The Director of the State Archives, Mr. Dimitar Bogeski, M.A., and the Head of the Department for Research, International and Domestic Cooperation, and Publication of Archival Material, Svetlana Usprtsova, are participating in the 36th convention organized by the International Centre for Archival Research – ICARUS.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the theme “Highlighting Heritage, Empowering Knowledge – From Archivists to Everyone,” with a focus on:
- Digital transformation and the application of new technologies in archival activities.
- Contemporary challenges and improving access to archival heritage.

Through presentations, panel discussions, and the exchange of experiences with participants from numerous countries, we continue the modernization process and the strengthening of the capacities of the State Archives.
Within the framework of the Convention, the Director of the State Archives, Mr. Dimitar Bogeski, M.A., and Svetlana Usprtsova held meetings and exchanged experiences with the Director of the National Archives of Estonia, Priit Pirsko, with Birgit Kibal, as well as with the keynote speaker of the Convention, Laura Millar. During these meetings, current challenges and opportunities for further cooperation in the fields of archival science, digitization, and the protection of archival heritage were discussed.
