The Director of the State Archives of Macedonia, Dimitar Bogeski, said in an interview with Večer that the institution holds exceptionally valuable original documents related to the life and revolutionary activities of Goce Delchev (Gjorgji Nikolov Delchev) in its archival holdings.
Among them, a particularly significant place is held by the coded alphabet that he used in his communication with the revolutionary detachments. This document provides evidence how communication was organized within the Macedonian revolutionary movement, particularly with regard to the supply of weapons, movement through populated areas, and the coordination of field activities. The use of this coded alphabet ensured the confidentiality of the messages, demonstrating the high level of organizational discipline and strategic thinking of the revolutionary organization, Bogeski stated in an interview with the newspaper Večer.
He adds that, in addition to the coded alphabet, the State Archives also holds 43 original letters written by Goce Delchev (Gjorgji Nikolov Delchev) and addressed to his close associates and revolutionary activists, including the heads of the foreign liaison points, Nikola Zografov, Nikola Maleshevski, Marko Sekulicki, and others.
- These letters contain valuable information regarding the movement activity, the transport routes of weapons and literature, and the coordination with the foreign branches. These documents had been brought to Macedonia along with the Goce Delchev's relics, and subsequently handed for holding in the State Archives by the Ilenden Organization. today, they represent a permanent testimony of an important period in our history, and the figure of Goce Delchev as an ideologist, organizer and visionery of the Macedonian revolutionary activity. It is our duty as an Archives to hold, publish, preserve these documents, and make them available to the scientific public and future generations, because they are a part of the historic memory of our people - said Bogeski.
