The State Archive of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in cooperation with the Historical Archive of Pozarevac, Republic of Serbia on June 3 (Monday) 2019, at 12:00 in the Cinematheque of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, will open the exhibition "The Movies We Loved (1947-1980) ) “.
This exhibition was made by the Historical Archive of Pozarevac and consists of 64 panels, with dimensions (70 cm x 100 cm), which present 180 posters, ie advertising film flyers and is a kind of homage to the history of Yugoslav film. It follows the development of domestic cinematography in the then FNR Yugoslavia, ie SFR Yugoslavia, in the period between 1947 and 1980.
This extraordinary exhibition presents an exceptional collection of Yugoslav cinematography and the films are presented chronologically, without dividing them into genres or authors, and promotional film material related to war films, social and psychological dramas is presented. prose works, children's film, musicals, comedies, etc.
Authors of the exhibition are: Dr. Jasmina Nikolic, director of the Historical Archive of Pozarevac and Dr. Dragana Miloradovic Nikolic and Mr. Goran Mitic, also employed at the Pozarevac Historical Archive.
The exhibition "The Movies We Loved (1947-1980)" premiered in March 2012 in Belgrade, and since then has been shown in many places in the Republic of Serbia and has always aroused great interest.
On June 3, 2019, this exhibition will be shown for the first time outside the Republic of Serbia, and will be further presented in other countries, originating from the former SFR Yugoslavia.
The above-mentioned exhibition will be enriched with an exhibition entitled "Macedonian Cinematography (1947 - 1991)", made by the State Archives of the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the Cinematheque of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, which consists of ten panels, measuring 70 cm x 100 cm, which will present archival material for the Macedonian film production in the period, as well as some statistics on the work of city cinemas in the Republic of Macedonia.
During the opening of the exhibition, segments of the most important Macedonian films and original exhibits related to cinematography in Macedonia will be presented, and it will be opened at the Cinematheque of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in the period from 3 to 17 June 2019.
At the opening of the exhibition will speak: Mr. Vladimir Angelov, Director of the Cinematheque of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Dr. Jasmina Nikolic, Director of the Historical Archive of Pozarevac, Mr. Bojan Ilic, President of the Assembly of the City of Pozarevac and Mr. Kiril Petrov, director of the State Archives of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
