As part of the publishing activity, the State Archive enriched its library with a new headline "The First People of the State Archive (1951-2021)" whose author is prof. Marjan Dimitrijevski, PhD. The work is a thorough and complex matter dedicated to the directors of the State Archives of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and it is especially important due to the fact that the rich biographies and bibliographies actually tell the history of Macedonian contemporary archiving and the development of the Archive as one of the foundations of our history, science and culture. This undoubtedly rich work analyzes the growth and upwardness of this state institution headed by these directors.
In the almost three-decade period, while they were directors of the Archive, the foundations of the codification of the modern Macedonian archival legislation were laid. Exactly this work shows and proves the contribution of the previous 13 directors of the Archive, who each in their own way left a mark and gave a significant contribution to the improvement and affirmation of the State Archive.
The activity of the directors of the Archive in the field of archiving in our country, deserves to have a written trace, which will not only give them a worthy place in the development of Macedonian archiving but will also be a trace of what they did during their term and left it behind as an investment for future generations of historians and archivists.
