In a short period of time, since our country had become a member state of NATO alliance on 27 March 2020, the State Archives became a member of the Archives Committee of NATO, where representative of the national archives of all member states take participation. The State Archives continues its successful communication and cooperation with NATO Archives Committee, and was invited to participate for the second time at the Workshop and Annual Meeting of the NATO Archives Committee, held on 9 and 10 December 2021. At the aforementioned events, the State Archives were represented by its director, Dr. Emil Krsteski and Ms. Svetlana Usprscova, Head of Sector.
Our participation at these events is especially important, because the NATO Archives Committee is interested in including all of the interested parties in the process of creating the procedures for declassification of particular documents, their availability to the researchers and the type of documents that may be publicly available. At the meeting, certain conclusion referring to these subjects were defined and adopted, and a new meeting was arranged for next February.
