The exhibition "150 years since the birth of Goce Delčev (1872 - 2022)" prepared by the State Archives under the patronage of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, will be opened at a commemorative event in the NI Museum of the Macedonian Struggle on 4 February 2022 at 12:00. The exhibition illuminates Goce Delčev's activity and role as the organizer of the Macedonian Revolutionary National Liberation movement from the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th century, i.e. as an ideologist, teacher, visionary, and the most important leader of the Macedonian Revolutionary Organization.
The authors of the exhibition, using the extensive archive documents, cover various aspects of Delchev’s figure and work trough his correspondence, testimonies, accounts of his comrades-in-arms about his work, but also trough the path of his relics from the village of Banitsa via Sofia to the capital of the contemporary Macedonian state, Skopje. The public will be also presented with materials left by Goce Delchev's descendants to honor his name and work in future times. With the exhibition, the State Archives communicates the message that it is the keeper of the memory of the past and cultural and historic heritage of the Macedonian people, including Goce Delchev’s figure - the leader of the Macedonian liberation movement and struggle for an independent state.
