The first of April is the day of the Macedonian archives and archivists. On 1 April 1951, 71 years ago, the State Archives was established. On this occasion, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia donated 130 computers to this science and culture institution, which shall serve its needs for intensified star of the digitalization process of historic documents and archive materials.
This donation by the Government of 130 portable computers (laptops), shall be allocated to the employees of the Central Department of the State Archives in Skopje, and to the nine regional departments in the Republic. It shall significantly help in meeting the European standards for computer technology necessary for realization of the State Archives activity, especially in the respect of digitalization and preservation and protection of historic documents and archive materials.
