OPENING PERSPECTIVES FOR COLLABORATION WITH INSTITUTIONS FROM ROMANIA

The international affirmation of the Macedonian cultural-historical past and the strengthening of the cooperation with archival institutions from the member states of the European Union are among the priorities of the State Archive. On the initiative of the director, Dr. Emil Krsteski, the Ambassador of Romania, H.E., visited the State Archives today. Adela Monica Aksinte with whom they held a working meeting where the two present confirmed the good relations between the two countries and the closeness of the two peoples, with the emphasis of the conversation being on the initiative for closer cooperation with the National Archives of Romania. Director Dr. Emil Krsteski briefly presented the history of archival activity in our country, as well as the organizational structure of the State Archive today.

The dynamics of work and the achievements of the State Archive in the past period were highlighted in the conversation with the ambassador, as well as the presentation of ideas that will contribute to the intensification of joint cooperation. Director Dr. Emil Krsteski indicated that he is interested in concluding a new cooperation agreement with the National Archives of Romania, expecting the support of Ambassador Aksinte in that direction. Setting up the exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the Manaki brothers in Bucharest would be an act of promoting the activity of these giants who have regional significance. In the conversation, Director Dr. Emil Krsteski referred to the projects that the State Archives is currently implementing with neighboring archives.
The exchange of archival materials, the preparation of a joint publication on Macedonian-Romanian historical ties, as well as the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries were discussed by Ambassador Aksinte and Director Dr. Emil Krsteski as possibilities for the realization of future projects.
