The State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia is constantly supplementing the archive funds that are in a private ownership in the interest of the holders and researchers from the country and abroad. Through this call, the private owners (creators) are offered the opportunity to donate archive material - personal funds, which is of particular importance for the national and local history as well as for the sociopolitical, economic and cultural life in the Republic of North Macedonia. The donated archival material in the State Archives and its regional departments is provided with appropriate accommodation, physical and technical protection, professional-scientific research, study and processing as well as its use for scientific purposes. Archive material intended for gift is categorized according to several criteria, including uniqueness, rarity and unrepeatable of archival material, preservation, originality and authorship. Holders and creators of archive material are categorized according to time, place, role and functioning in state, political, economic and cultural life. The download of archive material is performed by hiring archivists from the State Archives so that correspondence is made with possible holders, personal contacts are realized, and the conditions are negotiated under which the archive material that is in private ownership can be disposed of.
We summon all citizens who have archival material to show social responsibility and donate it to the State Archives as an institution that cares about the collective memory and the historical past. From the donated archival materials, archival funds will be formed which in the future will be available to researchers and from them will emerge valuable publications in the field of political history, history of everyday life, cultural history and the like.
