The State Archives is hosting the 31st Convention of the International Center for Archival Research (ICARUS) based in Vienna, which will be held from November 8 to 10, 2023, in Skopje and Ohrid. The theme of the Convention is “Common archive heritage - protection, accessibility, and digitization”, within which papers will be presented by about 60 archival professionals from Europe and beyond.
ICARUS is an International Center for Archival Research, which supports archives and related institutions in the challenges of the digital age. Based on the principle of complementarity and mutual support, the members of ICARUS common face new tasks and challenges.
The holding of the Convention is very significant for the State Archives because important European and world archivists from more than 30 countries in the world will be present, who will convey their own experiences from archival studies, as well as new knowledge about the digitization of archival material and the preservation of cultural heritage.
