With the publication of the second volume of the collection of documents titled "Albanian Documents about the History of Macedonia - Prefecture of Debar from 1941 to 1944" by Irfete Ibraimi, MA, the State Archives has resumed to publish documents about the history of Macedonia in 2024.
The collection consisting of 164 documents was created as a result of several years of scientific research in the General Directorate of Archives in the Republic of Albania, during which the included documents have been translated into Macedonian for the first time, with comments in footnotes, and all facsimiles at the end of the book. The selected documents from the abovementioned period refer to the regions of Tetovo, Gostivar, Debar, Kicevo and Struga. The contents of the documents which different character also refers to the situations in Gjakovica, Pristina, Prizren, Pec, Uroševac, Yunik in Kosovo.
The second volume, just as the first one, fills a gap in Macedonian historiography because it abounds with data with political, economic, religious, cultural, administrative, health, educational aspects. The documents can be used to research the state administration of these areas, the territorial organization, the financial sustainability of that division, the functioning of municipalities, the leveling of salaries in the administration, the expenditures, the health insurance and care for the population, the functioning of the administration, and finally the people’s sentiment towards the government and in general, the relations and cooperation that existed between the people of these areas, which is evidenced by most of these documents.
Approximately 400 documents from the 1941 – 1944 period have been translated and published in the two volumes.
