The national holiday October 23 - Day of Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle belongs to the milestone dates of the perseverance of the Macedonian people and all the peoples who lived in Ottoman Macedonia in their efforts to achieve statehood. National maturation and striving for social justice and equality are stages that lead to statehood as a confirmation of the worthiness of a nation to be counted among the European nations that have acquired their own state.
Macedonian intellectuals from the end of the 19th century: Ivan Hadji Nikolov, Petar Pop Arsov, Hristo Tatarchev, Hristo Batandjiev, Andon Dimitrov and Dame Gruev were the ideological driving force and laid the foundation of the Macedonian revolutionary struggle. That struggle went through crises and challenges, but with its intensity and steadfastness it brought AAPLM in 1944.
For us today, as a multicultural and multiconnection society, it is significant that the founders of the Macedonian Revolutionary Organization saw the unification of the population regardless of religious and national affiliation. The generations to come will always have the opportunity to learn from the vision of the founders of MRO for unification that will lead to the realization of modern national ideals.
Happy October 23rd – the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle!
