International Cooperation and Cultural-Educational Activities of the State Archives involve commemorating significant dates in the diplomatic relations of the independent Republic of North Macedonia. To this end, yesterday the State Archives hosted H.E. Adela Monica Axinte, Ambassador of Romania, along with Deputy Ambassador Veronika Ciolka. They held a working meeting with the Director of the State Archives, Prof. Dr. Natasha Kotlar-Trajkova, the Head of the Sector for Research, International and Domestic Cooperation, and Publication of Archival Material, Svetlana Usprcova, and the Head of the Department for Research, International and Domestic Cooperation, M.A. Marjan Gjovski.
The topic of the working meeting was the setup of the exhibition "Beyond Yesterday" by Romanian professor and anthropologist Constantin D. Constantin from the University of Bucharest, which will be hosted in Skopje by the State Archives. The exhibition is the result of Professor Constantin’s research mission through villages in the Balkans, following the research paths of the Manaki brothers. The exhibition also features photographs from the "Manaki Brothers" collection, which is housed in the State Archives – Bitola Department. The State Archives and the Romanian Embassy are jointly organizing the event in cooperation with the National Gallery. The official opening of the exhibition is part of the celebration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. H.E. Adela Monica Axinte was also informed about the cooperation between the State Archives and the National Archives of Romania, as well as the opportunities for conducting scientific research activities to study historical ties.
