Bogeski for Radio Lider: Digitalisation Is Our Priority

The Director of the State Archives of North Macedonia, M.Sc. Dimitar Bogeski, was a guest today on the Radio Lider podcast,where he discussed the institution's current challenges and future development plans.

During the interview, several topics of public interest were addressed. Director Bogeski spoke about the challenges facing the State Archives in a rapidly changing environment, emphasizing the need for continuous adaptation to new technologies and the evolving needs of society.

Particular emphasis was placed on the digitalisation process, which is already underway in cooperation with domestic and international partners. The initiative aims to improve public access to archival materials while ensuring their long-term preservation and protection.

The Director also outlined the institution's future plans for development and modernisation, focusing on the establishment of a contemporary archival centre that meets European and international standards.

The interview highlighted the significance of the documents preserved by the State Archives, which constitute an essential part of North Macedonia's national cultural heritage and are of immeasurable importance to the country's history and identity.

Special attention was also given to the preparations for the major international exhibition in Zagreb, organised to mark North Macedonia's Independence Day on 8 September. The exhibition is being prepared with the active involvement of the Ambassador of North Macedonia to Croatia, H.E. Dr. Dragan Gjurčevski.

Director Bogeski stressed that the State Archives is an open institution serving both citizens and the academic community."We do not hide documents—any interested person may submit a request and gain access to the archival materials,"he said.,“

In his remarks, Director Bogeski reaffirmed the State Archives' mission to become the country's national centre for digital archiving, ensuring the preservation of North Macedonia's documentary heritage while making it more accessible to future generations.
