The Director of the State Archives, Dr. Emil Krsteski, on November 3, 2021, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, HE Mr. Andrea Silvestri. The reason for this meeting is the recently signed Cooperation Agreement with the General Directorate of State Archives of the Republic of Italy, which refers to the cooperation between the archives of the two countries in the field of protection, research, and exchange of archival material of interest to both parties, the possibility for cooperation on common projects (exhibitions, collections of documents, etc.) and exchange of experiences in the field of conservation and digitization of archival material.
At the meeting, ambassador Silvestri expressed his satisfaction with the fact that this cooperation has been accomplished and informed the director Dr. Emil Krsteski about the possibility of cooperation within the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Italy.
Dr. Emil Krsteski gave to the ambassador a copy of the Cooperation Agreement between the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia and the General Directorate of State Archives in the Republic of Italy and informed the ambassador about specific proposals for the realization of this agreement in the future, which will mean an exchange of researchers and exchange of digitized copies of archival material relating to the history of both countries.
