In the history of the Macedonian people for national emancipation, the name of Goce Delcev (February 4, 1872, Kukush – May 4, 1903, Banica village) is rightly considered synonymous with the national struggle for freedom. Some of the publicists who were engaged in researching his role in recent Macedonian history, pointed out that with "his blood, he cemented the foundations of the Macedonian liberation struggle". This native of Kukušan with his ideas and visions entered the historical scene just when Ottoman Macedonia was preparing to show its national maturity in front of Europe, for the crown of that process to be the winning of an independent state in which all residents will enjoy human rights and social justice.
In Delcev's short but full life, he fulfilled his duty to his people as a teacher-enlightener, organizer of the Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, while cruising through Macedonian cities he strengthened the people's endurance and faith for a better tomorrow. Goce Delcev remained strongly remembered in the collective memory of generations to this day because of the wisdom and high moral characteristics that he possessed as a person. That is why he incorporated himself into the ideology and strategy of MRO and took responsibility for providing material resources and supplying the Organization with revolutionary literature.
"Continuously work for the cultural uplifting and liberation of the Macedonian people" – this is the incentive that made Goce Delcev to fight life and death for his timeless goals. On the day of the commemoration of the anniversary of his birth, the thought is imposed that we must understand Delcev's message, which motivates us as a nation of unity and loyalty to the state, which was obtained with many self-sacrifices.
