26 YEARS SINCE THE DEATH OF MOTHER TERESA

Today, September 5, 2023, marks the 26th anniversary of Mother Teresa's death. Gonja

Bojadziu, known as Mother Teresa, was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje.

Lived in her hometown until she was 18, and then moved to Ireland and India, where

she spent most of her life feeling God's call to help them

to the poor. During his life, for his humanitarian work, he became the recipient of

numerous recognitions and has received more than 700 awards. In 1979, she received the

The Nobel Peace Prize. She died at the House of Mercy in Calcutta (India) on 5

September 1997 after several years of struggle with heart and lung disease.

She left behind an unparalleled legacy of charitable and humanitarian organizations,

inspiration for caring for children, sick and poor people all over the world, because

she dedicated his whole life to them.

The General Assembly of the United Nations through a special resolution declared 5

September, the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa, for the International Day of Mercy.
