The Department of the State Archives in Kumanovo is taking part in the educational programs and student activities in primary and secondary schools in the city of Kumanovo, with the aim of presenting the Archive institution and the archivist profession.
On April 3, 2025 Thursday, a group of students from the Primary School “11 October,” accompanied by the school principal Dragica Spasić, and students from the Primary School “Bajram Shabani,” together with their teacher Faredin Destani, visited the Department of the State Archives in Kumanovo on the occasion of April 1 – the Day of Archives and Archivists. The students had the opportunity to learn about the daily work of archivists in preserving and making documents accessible. The presentation covered several key aspects of archive work, including the procedures for receiving documents, registering and responding to requests, organizing and processing materials, storing them in the archive depo, how researchers use the documents, as well as the use of books in the library.
The State Archives uses archival education for students as a way to promote the work of archives. In this regard, the head of the department, Mr. Vulnet Iseni, emphasized that the Archive is an institution open to the public, especially to young people who have an interest in documentary heritage.
