Yesterday, on November 11, 2025, at the National Institution Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, the exhibition “Consular Representations of Montenegro 1880–1914” by the State Archives of Montenegro was opened. The event was organized by the State Archives, in cooperation with the Embassy of Montenegro in Skopje, and with the support of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence. Displayed on 35 panels, the exhibition presents the diplomatic network of the Principality, and later the Kingdom of Montenegro, across various countries around the world.
At the event, addresses were given by Prof. Dr. Natasha Kotlar-Trajkova, Director of the State Archives; Velimir Šljivanjanin, Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of Montenegro; Danilo Mrvaljević, Director of the State Archives of Montenegro; and Mr. Vukota Vukotić, one of the authors of the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open until November 23, 2025, and will be available for viewing to all interested visitors.![]()
Earlier, at the State Archives, the directors of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia and the State Archives of Montenegro signed a new Agreement on Cooperation between the two institutions. The agreement provides for the exchange of experts for joint research, exchange of copies of published archival documents, preparation of joint publications, and other activities of mutual interest in the field of archival work. During the working meeting, representatives of both archives discussed a number of feasible projects that could be implemented in the upcoming period.
