The Director of the State Archives of Macedonia, Dimitar Bogeski, said in an interview with Večer that the institution preserves exceptionally valuable original documents related to the life and revolutionary activities of Goce Delchev (Gjorgji Nikolov Delchev) in its archival holdings.
Among them, a particularly significant place is held by the coded alphabet that he used in his communication with the revolutionary detachments. This document provides evidence of how communication was organized within the Macedonian revolutionary movement, particularly with regard to the supply of weapons, movement through populated areas, and the coordination of activities in the field. The use of this coded alphabet ensured the confidentiality of the messages, demonstrating the high level of organizational discipline and strategic thinking of the revolutionary organization, Bogeski stated in an interview with the newspaper Večer.
He adds that, in addition to the coded alphabet, the State Archives also holds 43 original letters written by Goce Delchev (Gjorgji Nikolov Delchev) and addressed to his close associates and revolutionary activists, including the heads of the foreign liaison points, Nikola Zografov, Nikola Maleshevski, Marko Sekulicki, and others.
– Во овие писма се содржани значајни податоци за делувањето на движењето, каналите за пренос на оружје и на литература, како и за координацијата со задграничните претставништва. Овие документи се донесени во Македонија заедно со моштите на Гоце Делчев и подоцна се предадени на чување во Државниот архив од страна на Илинденската организација. Тие денес претставуваат трајно сведоштво за еден значаен период од нашата историја и за личноста на Гоце Делчев како идеолог, организатор и визионер на македонското револуционерно дело. Нашата задача како Архив е овие документи да ги чуваме, публикуваме, заштитиме и да ги направиме достапни за научната јавност и за идните генерации, бидејќи тие се дел од историската меморија на нашиот народ – нагласува Богески.
