This year, as in the previous two years, the Director of the State Archives Dr. Emil Krsteski, and part of the management employees of this institution participated in the virtual international conference “RootsTech”, which took place from 3 to 5 March. The organization of this conference is the responsibility of FamilySearch International, the world’s largest genealogy organization, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, founded in 1894 as the Utah Genealogy Association. The RootsTech conference is in interest to all those involved in family history research, and it has been held annually since 2011.
This year’s RootsTech conference was opened by Steve Rockwood, General Manager of FamilySearch, and was attended by representatives from more than 200 countries, the topics were presented in 12 languages and were organized in more than 1,500 sessions, most of which can be found at the following link:

Most of the topics presented at the conference concerned the possibility of improving and searching of documents in the digital age; the manner of organizing the research; family history – part of everyday life; the search for close relatives with DNA results; the connection between genealogy and ethnology; dealing with ethical dilemmas in the world of the internet and many others.
